Price match advertised - an obligation?

Hello, new member here, though I've been receiving the newsletter for quite a while and been lurking now and then on the forum...
Anyway, the question that brought me here today is:
I bought some scuba gear through an online retailer, simply scuba, who advertises online (on their main page) as having a price match service.
I got all my gear, and paid it through their finance agreement.
It has to be said, they're quite cheap on most of the gear, but, of course, some of it I eventually managed to find cheaper on other websites.
Overall, it represents about 10% difference on the total price.
When I contacted them to get the price match, they said they didn't do price match on finance-paid orders.
Having look through their website, I can't find any reference to such a limitation...
Any of you know what my options are?

Can you link to the site?
Essentially it would come down to being a term on the contract. The 2 resolutions I see are
1) they give you the money off
2) you cancel the order/finance
It really depends on what their wbesite says.
Seperatley to that they could be misleading consumers but that would be upto the authorities to get them to change their advertising.0 -
I take it you have read the t&c's for the finance
why not return them for a refund0 -

I have checked the T&C of the finance agreement, and there's nothing about it preventing the price match.
As well, nothing on their website that would indicate they're not compatible, either on their finance web page or their price match web page.
here's what their customer service rep replied when I asked for a price match, forwarding the diverse links:
Unfortunately we are unable to apply any sort of discount or price matching to finance orders. This is a fixed agreement with you and the finance company V12 so we are unable to make any alterations.
Worth knowing as well, I asked for the price match before my order was dispatched (and kept trace of all emails, of course)
My reply was then:
Do you mean that in order to qualify, I'd have to cancel my order and go through the same process again?
Can't you send me some gift vouchers instead?
To which she replied:
No unfortunately we do not offer price match and finance we only offer one or the other.
I think I'll just give them a call and ask to talk to a manager, but I thought I'd pick your brains before going ahead with this...0 -
Right, had the customer service on the phone, for over 20 minutes, and no result.
They acknowledge their website is misleading, and took my feedback, etc, but won't even make a commercial gesture, despite being asked.
Now it's my choice. Finance OR price match. I think I'll stick with it, been on the cut off my nose to spite my face path before and always regretted it.
