360 wifi issues

okay I have a 360 elite with the wireless N adapter

its been working fine for a few months
then it decided to throw up errors accessing wifi

tried resetting it
different 360
rebooted the router etc etc

everything else can use the wifi so its fine

when i turn off security on the router,the 360 logs on fine
when i use WEP it works fine
however when i use WPA it gives errors
router is on the newest firmware and has been for some time

when i get a chance I'll dig out an old router and try that on WPA
but its strange the 360 has issues with it all of a sudden

any ideas?

When on wpa does it connect then disconnects after say 5 minutes or does it just not connect at all

wont connect at all
its see's it as WPA/WPA2 (and was previously connected under WPA2) but cant access
the 360 does the usual check the username etc but wont/cant connect
I used the android wifi checker and changed to channel 13 as its the least congested in my area incase it was interference
