I've just bought stuff to do seed favours. About £15 for 150 favours!
1000 seeds for £4
Mini grip lock bags to put them in for £1.25
Buisness cards from Vista with personalised instructions for the seeds £5 (inc postage)
And I've seen some little organza bags to put the lot in for about £5

I'm making lemon curd and putting it in little mini jars with personalised stickers on. I'm really please with them0

How about making the place settings somethin people can take away with them - a pebble from a beach with their name written on one side and the date on the other and varnished, or small piece slate/stone with name on varnished and small flower stuck to it etc...0

Ooh lots of great ideas, thank you!
Loving the idea of either the seeds or, if I'm feeling adventurous, making the seed paper. I'd seen some lovely seed paper favours online but most were about £2 each which just seemed too much so this would work out much cheaper.
Thank you everyone!0 -
we're making little choc chip shortbread hearts...
Barnardo's have an alternative wedding favour list - where you can donate money to pay for something specific and then they give you little cards telling guests what you have bought...

Save your money..most wedding favours get left on the table after the guests leave anyway. Although if you really wanted to give something then make something like little biscuits that have been suggested.0

That's a lovely idea white sapphire... I was thinking about that, but then had my easter egg brainwave.
I was going to make seed paper, here are 2 ways of doing it...
Maybe a little fiddly, but you only have to make the gluey stuff HERE
Or you can make the whole lot, which was what I was planning, and then I was going to punch out a shape and attach it to place cards, with instructions on the back. HERE
Emz, if I could thank you twice I would! :T I might be really adventurous, combining the two and make paper roses out of homemade seeded paper

EDIT: I've just remembered, I saw a previous tutorial for making seeded paper (not nearly as easy to follow as this one!), and it suggested adding food colouring to match your colours. Also, it advised against newspaper as it can turn the finished result a little grey because the ink runs too easily.Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

My theme is chocolate so guess what my guests are getting. I know people who have spent a fortune on favours in the past and like everyone said they get left on the tables, everyone likes chocolates (or if they don't there will be someone who does) and it's one less thing to think about.
I also considering the idea of buying charity pin badges so I was giving to charity and the guests were getting a little badge that they can wear.I :heart2: saving money0 -
I agree that most people usually leave them behind on the tables. We got cheap ivory organza bags, Lidls had love hearts on offer over valentines day so I got a couple of tubs of those and will put them inside the bags. Just a little something to put beside peoples name places and if they leave them behind, then I wont worry about wasting alot of money.0

THey also made wonderful place settings - each person's name was stencille don in glitter by the 'decorating committee' over a bottle or several of wine one evening."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0
