Wedding Favours

Options
I've got 100 guests coming to the wedding and I'd really like to give everyone something small to take away. I've found loads of great things online but they're all generally about £2 each which is a lot of money when it's for 100 guests.
What are other people giving for favours, if anything?

I'm making shortbread biscuits & putting them in celophane bags for each guest. Each guest will get 1 x lemon and 1 x Lavendar shortbread.

I've not been very original. We are having Mr and Mrs Rock, small lilac sugar-coated chocolate hearts and some roses all wrapped up in lilac organza and tied with lilac and ivory ribbon.
They might not be very original but IMO they look nice and we spent a total of about £35-40 (can't remember exact amount) for 64 people.

They sound good. My problem is that I'm doing a sweetie buffet so ideally I don't really want edible favours.

I made little wine charms for the wine glasses of each guest, went down such a hit I'm now making them for 6 other brides to be who I've met on here :-) A thoughtful little touch and very friendly on the purse strings!

Im donating money to charity in lieu of favours and have just made little note cards for each guest to let them know which charity.

Not sure which charity you are interested in but Cancer Research issue you with little personalised favour cards if you donate to them x

Our's is an Easter Monday wedding, so we are having wooden egg cups, made by my wonderful Grandad, and I am going to put a chocolate egg in each one, and attach a luggage tag as a place name I think. If I had nicer writing I would be using writing icing and putting the names directly onto the eggs, like they do in thorntons. That's where I got the idea!

I will need them for 70, but my Grandad is refusing to take money for the eggcups, so it shouldn't be over 50p each for the eggs, because we'll use my Stepdad's cash and carry card!

How about doing little packets of flower seeds? Should be pretty cheap if you buy the seeds in large packets then package them up yourself.

That's a lovely idea white sapphire... I was thinking about that, but then had my easter egg brainwave.
I was going to make seed paper, here are 2 ways of doing it...
Maybe a little fiddly, but you only have to make the gluey stuff HERE
Or you can make the whole lot, which was what I was planning, and then I was going to punch out a shape and attach it to place cards, with instructions on the back. HERE
