Do you have any alcohol in the house at all?
We quite often use up all manner of things in our 'cocktail' nights and each take a turn to pick one song from our rather large record collection. It usually goes:
Stage One (First Cocktail): We each pick a song that we love and sit and lovingly appreciate each others opinions on it.
Stage Two (Second/Third Cocktail): We each pick a song we know the other isn't so fussed about and use it as an opportunity to ramble on a bit, trying, in vain, to convince the other of its merit. OH lazily suggests we just leave one CD on for a while and using what he refers to as 'the tone', I remind him of THE RULES.
Stage Three (Fourth/Fifth Cocktail): We're now impatiently awaiting our next turn and being quite rude about each others choices. We're inevitably distracted by a disputed fact about a particular band or musician and decide we need to Wiki it. One of us 'wins' and the other sulks.
Stage Four (Six Cocktails +): This is the variable stage - sometimes we decide we need to redesign our living room and begin to move furniture around, occasionally we decide we absolutely must find clips of our favourite childhood TV shows clips online and once, we even booked a holiday.
(There's a fifth stage for him where he regrets all the booze but as I don't get hangovers I happily skip this bit!)0 -
