We've seen a house that is a part-ex. It is listed by 2 estate agents. We rang one of the agents a couple of days ago to discuss interest in a part-ex. They said they would contact the vendor. We have rung them a couple of times a day since and they say they haven't heard anything yet.
So today I have rung the second estate agent and again, showed interest in the part-ex for them to contact the vendor.
Have we done the right thing getting both estate agaents on to the job?

Probably not. But it won't do you any harm.
Chances are the first agent is waiting for a response from the vendor and if it concerns a part-exchange, there might be other parties involved who have to be consulted.
Have you viewed the property yet? If you have, stick to dealing with the agent who booked the viewing for you as that is the one which will be paid if you buy.I am a mortgage broker. One of the reasons you should never go multi-agency is that this seems to come up more than it should. No doubt the vendor will end up being bombarded by both agents. If they're a big developer, I'm sure they will have already negotiated how the fees will be paid, but do choose one agent over the other once you have the opportunity to view. You can't continue negotiations with both without causing the vendor a headache at best, or monetary cost at worst.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
