Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation to mine below or could offer some advice.
I have had a bill through from BT for £212 for the month most of which is premium rate numbers. I have checked these numbers and confirmed they are Sky Games as Sky is connected through the phone line.
I am a single parent and only live with me and my 4 year old. I assume it is my 4 year old that has been accessing the games through the remote and I was unaware these were accruing charges.
I have spoken to BT who said they cannot remove them off the bill as it is a service I have accessed (even though I was unaware of it).
Sky have said it isn't there probem as it is BT who is charging me and they said I can't take sky out of the BT phoneline as I have multi room. They also said they can't put any lock on the games or pin as they don't offer this service for games. I have just checked how these childrens games work on the TV and as soon as you click on them nothing stops you as it is connected to the phoneline constantly, my 4yr old doesn't understand this.
Therefore I have to pay an extortionate bill to BT and it could continue to happen every month and Sky won't offer me any help to prevent it happening every month.

If you pay line rental to BT, they can bar the dialling of 09 numbers free of charge. I've had that on my line for years.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Thank you, I am going to ring now and see what they say. Hopefully they can do this.0

Yes they do!
Press services on the remote control,
scroll accross the the padlock symbol,
Enter the PIN Number,(usually the last four numbers on the viewing card)
Scroll across to 'OTHER'
Set them all to 'ON'
Set "PIN required for purchases over £xx.xx to £0.00
Press green button to save the settings.
THEN change the pin number in all the Sky boxes (Change PIN) to one only you know!If you dont know the PIN Sky can reset it.0
