  • Baby wipes are ESSENTIAL!

Also the hand gel for washing your hands.

I've noted earlier you said you would be taking an air bed. I've never had an airbed and I imagine it would take up quite a lot of room in the tent but one year I took a lilo I brought back from holiday. It was perfect. The most comfy sleep I have ever had in a tent and for £2 you can just leave it behind when you're done.

loving reading through this thread, getting excited for T in the Park!!! woo hoo!!!

    Essentials:
tent - 5 man one for £25 found on amazon 3 years ago has lasted 2 festivals so far and is going back this year. tried smaller tents but no room for stuff.
inflatable mattress - a double fits 3 of us, lol. A lilo works too
lantern - cheapo works fine, we used a poundland one last year
Pillow - used to take a real one, trying an inflatable this year
warm sleeping bag - it get freezing cold in July at night (in Scotland). I take a four season bag and couldn't sleep in anything lighter
    baby wipes - fantastic things
    dry shampoo
    hand sanitiser
toothbrush & toothpaste - sp works fine
tissues - those individual packs (works as tp too)
bin bags - carry stuff home and a dry seat
socks & underwear & a complete dry set of clothes or 2. We usually wear the days before if it's not too disgusting to save manky clothes stinking out a tent on a hot day, everyone else looks the same, they don't care
    hat
wellies - look good in mud and with shorts
    warm hoodie
    pac-a-mac

    Nice to have:
painkillers - can get from a first aid tent if needed for free
sun cream - usually folk handing it out / rubbing it on
aftersun - usually don't go to above folk and get burnt
pump for mattress - a neighbour will always have one or a stand selling them will blow yours up
easy food - crisps, cereal bars, etc
cooler - keeps cold all weekend

    Don't bother:
stove / bbq - banned at TITP, plenty of healthy food available
loads of clothes - everyone is muddy & messy together
    mallet - foot works fine
water carrier - loads of taps, use empty bottle
backpack - theives will cut it open behind you and they make it harder to jump around, lol. Combat trousers / shorts / something with big pockets are great.

TBH if you forget something neighbours will always be willing to help out and you can buy literally everything you need there. There are stalls with tents, sleeping bags, wellies, clothes, etc (I'm sure there was a superdrug and woolies stall the other year) and plenty of varied healthy foods too - TITP has it's own healthy T bit and it's fantastic. You can even go a step further and get a Refresh wristband for a shower, real toilet, straighteners, hairdryers, etc - good idea but not in the festival spirit, lol.

If all else fails, make best buds with a random, sleep in their tent and eat from the multiple groups gathered around :rotfl:

    Bumpity bump

Festival season is upon us in a couple weeks. And I'm going to Download this year. I was trying to find this thread to remind myself what I needed!

A few things to add since my experience last year

a very warm sleeping bag - my £10 argos one was rubbish last year! So I bought one for £30, which was half price! I'm also going to take a fleecy blanket with me

    Also
Clashfinder - a detailed schedule of bands and where they are on the schedule on a timeline, so you can see which bands clash.
Hand sanitiser - life saver last year!
    Mallet for the tent obviously.
Ponchos, it was so wet last year!
Old shoes, not brand new ones, like I did last year, so I'm taking my Converse that I ruined last year, plus my Hunters wellies, as my old ones got destroyed at Reading Festival.
    dry shampoo
Ear plugs - right in the flight path of East Midlands Airport.
Microfibre towel - takes up less room than regular towel
    Inflatable pillow - so comfy!
    Tent light

I'm trying to pack light... lol. But I'm only taking 1 pair of jeans which I'll be wearing to the festival.

Less than 2 weeks to go!!

There is a range of meals called 'look what we've found' http://www.lookwhatwefound.co.uk/page/ready_meals.aspx
can be found dead cheap, but they are light, take up little space and taste really good. i took some to reading fest and would you believe it everest!.
my missus used to use a 'granny shopper' to carry tinnies and vodka too...
