    Ho hum..
    Spend 40 quid on a GPS/GSM jammer.
No evidence the car has ever moved from its last spot...
Someone put a lot of thought into this idea. Not.

This is one sure way to invalidate the insurance and this is exactly the same as tampering with the technology, which will be picked up, investigated and the policy terminated.

Make a claim and the car is miles away from where it should be, the insurance company will simply refuse to pay out through a breach of terms.

The driver will lose the premium, the 40 quid for a useless piece of kit, and the possibility of ever getting a decent insurance premium in the future as the fact that a policy was terminated is sitting on the Motor Insurance Database.

This is a good idea, my brother who is £17 cant get a quote cheaper than £2400 for a £900 corsa

    Who was this quote with?

My cousin is 17 and is having problems getting quotes under £6000 for a corsa!

    Thanks :)

So you don't think they'll notice all the data suddenly drop out.
And you really don't think they'll have thought of why, and simply cancel your policy?

Hey, I didn't say do it, i just highlighted a way of circumventing it....
And just what happens, pray tell, when your residence has no mobile phone coverage???
Or you have a prang in an area of limited cellular coverage???
Same thing...No GSM data in all 3 cases.....
Which, by your logic, means the insurance is invalid to start with...

I would be astonished if it diddn't log position to some internal storage for when there is no GSM coverage.
Similarly, it could have an accellerometer to detect motion with no GPS. And GSM can do position too. (though badly)
