Often thought about purchasing a car from Autoquake, but was never brave enough ater reading so many mixed reviews in the Autoquake thread!

Anyway noticed this morning that they've gone into Admin!

  • Looked at them when buying a car last year and the more you looked, the more worried you became. A bit like Ryanair in a way. They'll deliver a car, sort of, but charge you for everything and then shout "tough" when things go wrong. I couldn't trust them.

Pretty amazing to think that they raised £6m from venture capitalists in March 2010 and seem to have burned through this amount of money in one year.

I bet that this news is going to make one poster on here a very happy bunny.

Hmmm, that's surprising. Guess all the arguments are pretty much academic now lol.

Just hope there aren't too many customers caught in the middle of this.

I did notice that their prices had shot up of late. When I bought from them, the reason I did so was that they were cheap -- very cheap. But that didn't seem to be the case more recently. Presumably they were trying to increase profit margins in a last-gasp effort to sort themselves out.

Given their apparent inclination towards making reviews up, it's probably no great loss in the grand scheme of things.

I'm quite sure he'll think he single handedly brought the company down.

    :rotfl:

I just wonder if it has anything to do with the new ASA rules re: advertising on websites - their marketing was a bit shady to say the least.

As did I - lease cars at near auction price without having to battle with traders at auction and a few more consumer rights.
