Homecall, BT, TalkTalk All Fudge My Home phone and business calls - what do I do?

I moved home eight weeks ago and asked Homecall (my provider at the time) to transfer my line and number (important as although I work elsewhere, I run my own business and still receive custom through my home line from when I worked at home previously) to my new address. They said it would
take 14 days and that they would be able to reroute calls to my business premises during that time so we didn't miss any enquiries.
The week before I found out that I was moving, I signed upwith TalkTalk but as literally days later, I found out that I was moving house I phoned and emailed TalkTalk to cancel the switch and was told that it wouldn't go through - my application was confirmed as voided by my choice with their agreement.
Since that time (8 weeks ago), Homecall haven't transferred any of my calls or my number over claming it is BT's responsibility, BT says that the line belongs to Homecall and they can;t do anything about it. I had 8 weeks of acting as a go between for these two companies (over 37 hrs on hold to call centres) whilst they blamed each other and I eventually set up a new line with BT out of desperation because I had no phone and was running up expensivce mobile bills.
The other day, I was put through to a BT department that doesn't normally receive calls from the public and I was told that TalkTalk has my number. Talktalk have been billing my old address for services that I had agreed with them are cancelled, they are now trying to transfer my phone number to the BT line that I have had to set up at my new address. They have been very helpful but BT are now slowing us down as they say we have just signed up with them and not TalkTalk. After compaining and explainig the situation Iw as told that the number woudl be changed within 3 days - it hasn;t been and now I am still waiting for BT to decide what to do as they say it is with another department and they can;t do anything about it. TalkTalk say they are waiting on BT. AaaaaH!
Basically, two months on, I haven't got my old number, my business is losing revenue because so much of my marketing had my home number on it and I'm now being billed by BT, TalkTalk and Homecall for services that none of them have provided!
I just need my old number back and haven;t got a clue who to complain too as this inconsistant and muddled service just can't be right
Any advice please help me - can I take a company to court for loss of earnings? I've got plenty of proof of how important that number is to my business but I don;t know who to start with as all the companies said one thing and done another!
Please let me know any thoughts you have
Many thanks

Sorry I don't have any advice. I just wanted to say hope it gets sorted out.
I had an equally horrendous experience with Homecall/BT and Talktalk when I transferred last year.
In fairness Bt were fine it was Homecall who were the problem . I had planned to transfer all my business to talktalk. I had my line rental with Bt but had my calls for about 3 weeks with Homecall having transferred to them from talktalk. Homecall were horrendous and told a bunch of porky pies to get me to them in the first place.
I got out of the contract with them because they had "missold" the product but getting away from them was awful.
I spent hours on the phone to homecall who reduced me to tears with the amount of time I spent being transfered from pillar to post and each one telling a different story. I lost the plot in the end!! I reckon I spent about 25 hours either on the phone or holding for Homecall.
I was lucky at least I could make and receive calls. I was in phone limbo no one accepted responsibilty for my calls. I had about 4 weeks of not paying for my calls for whatever reason and eventualy got transferred back to talktalk.
Having been in the triangle with BT/Homecall and Talktalk I can sympathise. I discovered my first grey hair in that month!!!I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0
