Atlantic Gas & Electric - any good today?
Hi all,
I switched my Gas and Electricity to Atlantic Gas and Electric at my parents about 10 years ago.
I've just looked at the USwitch and all other comparison charts and they are never there.
Anyone here still use them and are they considered still good value?
I guess they might look expensive as they give you a rebate every year.
Thanks.

Hi
I switched my gas and elect to Atlantic last month via u switch and the wine link voucher :rotfl:.
Prices beat edf online 4 before edf price rise so I got a very good deal.
Tariff i got was price fix 3 and was only available through comparison sites.
My research said that the best atlantic deals are gained by giving them a call.
Happy with Atlantic after six weeks with first utility who raised both rates and service charge within the six week period I was with them with no notification.
My complaint or a proper bill have not been received.
Avoid first utility everyone :eek:0 -
Atlantic are part of Scottish and Southern Energy. I was with them years ago when they were very cheap. Then they were bought by SSE and the prices went up hugely so I left. I hadn't realised the name had kept going and I too have never seen them on uSwitch.0

i've recently moved from Atlantic to EDF.
Must give Atlantic credit, the customer service i recieved was excellent!0 -
I'm still with them. Customer service is excellent and in an overall picture I find they work out good on pricing. I am on the tariff where you get a months payment back each December.
I have no intention of switching from them.0 -
I have been with Atlantic a few years, and have just changed to Fixed price 4, I could save £38 a year by going to someone else, forget who. However the service off Atlantic is worth the nearly a £1 a week saving.
One of the things I really like is, at any time you can enter your readings on line and it will inform you instantly your position regarding how much in credit or how much you owe, and you can make a booster payment if needed to keep it just as it should be.0 -

I tend to agree. I've just recently switched but their day to day customer serivce was never a reason to leave. However, if part of that customer service role was to keep me informed of better deals that may be more suitable to my needs, then they failed miserably.0 -
tgon, if you think any of them will tell you go here or there it will be cheaper. Well I doubt it.0

No, I meant a better tariff within the same company.0

It would be good if they contacted all their customers and said we are moving you to our cheaper tariff. Unfortunately non of them work that way, you have to mess about or suffer an higher tariff.0
