A Drink in London That Won't Cost An Arm & A Leg?

OK this might be a really tall order but I am hoping some of the London DFW/MSE'ers might be able to help me out here!

I am off to London on Saturday with a friend for a concert (booked ages ago & paid for!).

However we are both now quite skint!

We want to be able to pop out for a couple of beers & a catch up before the concert but obviously money is a bit tight right now.

We are staying in a hotel quite near the Chelsea Football Ground (bargain off the internet!) and the concert is at Earl's Court.

Can anyone recommend any places to grab a drink around there or a few tube stops out, where a couple of beers aren't going to be a fiver each or something ridiculous.

I know I know I KNOW that London prices are more expensive than where we live (the sticks! :D ) but if I can be advised of some of the more reasonable places I would be really appreciative.

Thanks you guys, in advance.

There's an Irish pub called Brogans (I think!) near Fulham Tube where you can get a reasonably priced pint. It's still London prices but it won't be a fiver that's for sure!

Aloha. I used to live near Chelsea, there's a lovely pub on Fulham Palace Road called The Larrick, about £3.20 a pint, with an O'Neills opposite which is a little cheaper. If you can find a chain pub, like The Green Man in Soho if you're going into town, you'll find bottles of wine for £5.50.

Chelsea/Fulham is quite reasonable for drinks in the pubs (not the bars!) lots of Aussies, good beer and atmosphere. If you fancy walking over Putney Bridge, the Boathouse on the river is lovely, and the Slug and Lettuce on the RIGHT is cheapish but gorgeous gorgeous food (chicken and mango burgers, brie and bacon sandwhiches)... xx
  • THANK YOU!!! I really appreciate your advice everyone.

where are you training out from ?

I also recommend any sam smiths pub. You wont get "named drinks" like stella, but their Iyengerbrau ( spelled wrong of course) is lovely. Careful with it though, I always end up completely smashed on it :o
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I thought that Wetherspoons had a policy Not to play music - our local Wetherspoons has segregated smoking and non-smoking areas, plus they do an excellent breakfast:beer:
