To all the doom merchants...

...who constantly belittle the UK, and say we are a joke country whose economy is based on nothing and we will all be living in boxes soon.

This is what I say:

The UK is the most politically and socially stable country in the world, as it has proven for about 300 years, and it is capable of weathering alot of shocks to the global economy and still being ok.
I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j

    I suppose it would be quite easy to respond by saying the UK is a joke economy built on little but excessive lending AND that it is a politically and socially stable country.

    O right, and the fact we are scientifically second only to USA is a "joke"? Just because you dont have a clue doesnt mean everyone in this country is so worthless and untalented

    The UK is a severely indebted economy and is currently politically and socially stable.

    And it has been easy to set out defecit reduction plans because it is so stable. The defecit reduction will go through comfortably.

    What this country needs is worthwhile and talented thread starters.

    Deficit schmeficit, what about debt repayment?

    We have to reduce spending by 1/4 just to stand still.
