Loophole to get out a gym membership?

But are all these gym memberships actually contracts that can be used to claim these high amounts?
Surely they would need to have the full terms and conditions printed on them rather than refer to some other document you dont get to read when joining?
Mine is a membership aplication form (big heading at the top) the only "contract" indication is that it says12 month contract, you can cancel with one months notice
And I am taking it that the verbal conditions I was given at the time of the sale of this membership also apply.
(I have a witness to what was said).0 -
The trouble with verbal conditions are that they are extremely hard to prove. Did you not sign a terms and conditions sheet? To he honest it's fairly clear cut to me, what's the point in having a time based contract if you can just go and cancel it when you want?
I'll be amazed if you get away without paying this but good luck and keep us updated.0 -
Really wish we had a good, big-brand gym round here, would save me a fortune:(0
