Importing Vista Mail to Outlook Express??

I finally upgraded to a new computer, going from Vista to Windows 7. Separately I purchased Office 2010 and would now like to import my emails from my old Vista Mail account. I ran a Windows Mail BackUp but all files are saved as eml. Doesn't Outlook look for pst files? I don't want to lose anything or corrupt my new laptop. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Thanks! Per the link, I can export contacts (and have done so) and saved as CSV files however this doens't help with messages which are eml. Need to find a way (or program perhaps?) that will allow me to convert them accordingly. Tried exporting messages via Windows Mail and it will not allow me...
