I see you meant to say that your company gave you access to a copy online and you had printed out a hard copy to keep at home.0 -
It doesnt much matter whats in your contract unless you are prepared to enforce it.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

You are not allowed to print things, use emails or usb sticks?
Ask your HR dept how you are supposed to gain access to a hard copy of the handbook if you cannot do the above.
Worse case scenario - get it on the screen [the bits you need] and take a photo. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
This is quite restictive, what kind of industry do you work for?Sambucus_Nigra wrote: »You are not allowed to print things, use emails or usb sticks?
Furthermore how does your company contact other companies, through the telephone alone?!
How on earth is anything agreed with anyone outside your organisation?
Other company: Could you please send us an email confirming the deal we agreed to?
Your company: Sorry we have a policy of no emails, its a virus risk.
Other company: Oh ok... could you please send us a letter confirming it then?
Your company: Sorry we have a policy of no printing, its not environmentally friendly.
Other company: err... fax then?
Your company: Sorry that involves printing, and we don't have electronic fax software as that was deemed a security risk.
Other company: Right erm... I don't know what to say......Ok I've got an ideal, how about we send someone round to collect it in electronic form?!
Your company: Sorry that involves using a USB stick, or burning a CD, both of which are banned as a security and virus risk.
Other company: You know this multimillion pound deal that I am trying to get confirmation on?
Your company: Yes.
Other company: The one that your company practically begged for and only narrowly won the tender.
Your company: Erm.....yes?
Other company: Forget it! It's off!
Your company: Wait! Wait!....We have this carrier pigeon called Percy you see, and we can.....hello? Hello?!
(Click line goes dead)
Your company: But Percy's very fast!..........(sniff) He's just had his Weetabix......ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0 -

If you have been employed for two months or more, do the written particulars of your employment that you do have cover everything that is required to be given to you as listed here - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/EmploymentContractsAndConditions/DG_175704 without requring reference to the employee handbook?
If they don't or if anything else in the handbook is meant to be contractual, write to HR and ask them to provide a hard copy of everything that the law requires them as employer to provide.0 -
Many companies have them on internal networks now, it's easier for HR to make changes to that than waste paper having to print new ones out for employees.
Have you tried screen printing pages that you want into a word document, or copying and pasting the bits you want. Here's another novel idea, WRITE the bits out that you want!
Just because you want to try for kids doesn't mean you need a hard copy for finding out what leave your entitled to. Just read it at work and try the things I've said above, or email HR and ask them. Not rocket science is it, nor is it the end of the world if you don't have a hard copy.Saved: £1566.53/ £20000
