    Hi,
Payplan are great, been with them 2 years now, the "consoltation" you have with them over the phone is like a breath of fresh air. It was more like health counselling for me, I just burst into tears half way through realing off my list to them. The woman was great, she said to me that no matter how bad you think your debts are there is always someone worse off than you! You will be able to breathe a huge sigh of relief when you get started with them as most of my creditors ignored me when I tried to call and explain I couldn't pay, but as soon as they see "Payplan" connected with your name they will leave you alone to get on with repayments.

Me too, I think it was seeing it all written down and then having to say the numbers out loud to someone... they also told me that I wasn't the worst she'd heard that day, and it was only 11am! And all of my creditors have been really understanding as soon as I mention PayPlan, and I haven't even signed the papers yet; it's all such a relief I feel like a huge weight has been lifted :D

well they called, and couldn't help me just yet. or what i really mean is they cant set up a plan for me just yet. my £16000 loan is on a payment holiday - i knew it would nip me in the butt - so i haven't made three payments to it. this means it would be fraud if i tried to do a plan.

the lady i spoke to is sending me stuff to send to my other creditors so it will at least help there. we worked out that i should be a ble to afford three payments in the new year to my loan so that's ok.

i'm semi releaved i think! i love talking to people about this as i have bottled it up for so long.

    thanks for the advice guys.

I still haven't heard back from HSBC about reclaiming my fees either! that money is much needed and what got it me into debt in the first place.

Payplan are fantastic to deal with. You will be much better off now. When I started I had higher debts than you, still have at the moment but they are going down and the creditors are much easier to deal with.

    I'm doing that too :D
They made me an offer yesterday which I've "respectfully declined"... have to now sit tight and wait for the full amount...

  • I was recommended Payplan by a woman at the GM credit card a few years ago when I was having problems paying. Once they took us on it was like a heavy cloud being lifted from above us.

When they do the expenditure paper work they include all your money needs for the month including how much the dog food cost us ;)

Well worth going with them and don't worry if you still get a few narky people still after for a couple of months until they get the message Payplan are behind you. Just do as they say and all will be well.

We aren't with them anymore since last year and have no debts and we've took this opportunity to make sure we have learnt our lessons with money.

PS can I just add that once they work out how much you can afford to pay back each month and this is set up, if you ever get something like a bonus from work or anyother way then you can keep this to yourself or if you want to pay it off your debts. I had to ask this as sometimes my hubby did get the odd one now and then. This was lovely when he did as that money then really did become a bonus and not just finding it dribble away into the monthly pot of bills bills and more bills. We used to put this away and use it for xmas or holiday (camping..cheap ;) )
Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

    hi,

thats good to hear you are out of debt. i cant wait for that day, it's a long way away but not out of reach!

they told me to open a new bank account as a secret place to stash your extra cash! also for better reasons to do with overdrafts i have or something but at the moment i'm happy they have helped.

i cant wait to get started on the paper work. even though they cant help justyet with my loan at least the prospect of full time work with my dad will mean i can pay the first three monts before payplan can help with 100% of my debt!

You need a new bank account so that you have somewhere for your income to go where your creditors can't touch it. There's no point Payplan negotiating a small monthy payment only to find the bank has helped itself to a huge whack of your income.

so clearly your new bank should be one that is unconnected to any of your debts.

Yes. We had to do this and we ended up with a plain account with no debit cards or cheque book or cheque guarantee cards.

I won't say it wasn't a pain in the rear many a time, having to budget with just cash every week from the cashpoint machine (and only allowed to use the town bank machine ) and when certain things needed paying for and we had to go off to the post office for postal orders. One thing I do recall was having to pay my sons football fees this way and it felt embarrassing to have to do, which is wrong really as plastic is seen nowadays as being higher up than real cash  but we did it and got through and I can say today it has taught us a helluva lot about how we have been frivilous at times over the years.

I do have a debit card now but to be honest I prefer doing it the normal ;) way still today by getting my housekeeping out of the bank each week and budgeting only this :D
