I guess it depends on what your after, I tried the nokia handsets and didn't like them, others may love them its really a personal thing. (I loved the HTC range but can't afford either so am without anything at the moment!).

    Hi Jennie

Just in case you're interested, T-mobile have the HTC Wildfire for £15 a month, phone cost £35, but £20 cashback from Quidco. (100 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited net)

Alternatively you can get the same phone for £10 a month, same plan but £99 for the phone, with £20 cashback from Quidco.

I got my Wildfire on this deal - although I managed to get £80 cashback at the time, back in June, for a £40 phone. It's a fantastic phone.

Just thought you might be interested. :)

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".
  • You can get HTC wildfire at Vodaphone for £20 pm for 300 mins / unlimited texts / 250 mb internet. Access it through quidco and get £150 cashback until Sunday. This makes it equivalent to £13.75 for 24 month contract. Sounds like a good deal to me especially seeing as I dont need to remember to do redemptions to get the money back. I think you can also have free vodaphone to vodaphone calls too. Not yet pressed the button but hopefully will tonight

So 24 month contract for £20 a month.

    £20 x 24months = £480.
You get 750 mins, 500 texts, 1Gb internet

GIFFGAFF sim = free, for £10 a month you get 250mins but unlimited texts, unlimited net. £120 for 12 months (your not tied to a contract so could leave even earlier if you wanted). Plus handset cost of £350= £470.
(You don't need to have a great credit rating either ;))

Moral of the story is? don't 'grab-it' unless your really going to use it or really need it. There will always be better offers if you know where to look (here/HDUK/etc etc) or who to ask (people on the forums).
Your maths are way off. You are comparing a cost of £480 for 2 years against a cost of £470 for 1 year. The actual cost for the 2nd year is an additional cost of £120 taking the total to £570.
I know which one I would choose out of those two......

True, I did adjust the 'contract' legnth, this is because most people dislike being tied to the same handset or contract for 24 months, yes it would work out cheaper but you'd have the same phone, same contract and be tied to paying it.

Up to you, like I say everyones got their own mind but I know I'd get itchy feet with the same handset unless it remained top of the range for at least a year, most handsets become 'passe' after about 6 months :(

Called Virgin Mobile today as my contract with them expires in 2 days to see if they could match this Tesco deal but the nearest they got was £22 a month and the guy suggested it was a very good deal.

Just one small caveat - we're talking here about a Nokia, still clinging to its Symbian operating system, which just doesn't cut the mustard with smartphones. That's why it's an apparently good deal - it's a phone that's already been outmoded by its Android competitors. One of those (the Orange San Francisco) is in many ways better, and can be obtained for less than £100.

Doc is right, the Symbian platform is like the do do and Nokia's strategy is now focussed solely on Windows 7 phones, expected later this year.

Any Nokia Smartphone around now is NOT for someone who has gone gooey eyed over iPhones or Andriod phones and are looking for a cheaper alternative
