I am travelling to London the weekend after next and it will be a house-hunting expedition and I will probably try and have a wander round some of the areas mentioned.0

If your daughter is pre school age then ok but if she is already over 5 and you are looking to get her into a decent school then you will be lucky or rather you won't as decent schools will be full. Your whole decision should be based on schools rather than what you want etc.
Essentially you move to a rental which gets you into the right school and then move somewhere less expensive is necessary.0 -

Probably, but his industry is concentrated in London and so it will be very very difficult for him to find a new job here. He is also doing an industry course which requires attendance in London several times a month.0
