new 20month 0% barclaycard

I already hold 2 barclaycard credit cards (1 being a goldfish which was automatically transferred to a barclaycard with the takeover and the other a platinum card). I have an outstanding balance on the goldfish barclay card of £1600 but zero balance on the platinum - I was thinking of applying for the new barclaycard in my wifes name to get the 20months 0% so I can switch another balance I have. She has never applied on her own but has joint cards with myself. Do you reckon she will be accepted?
Thanks

Depends on her credit profile.0 -
Have you asked barclaycard if they will give you the 20month 0% offer on your own empty platinum card?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

1). no outstanding loans or debts -
2). been a joint mortgage holder with myself for 10 years (current outstanding £125k on a proprety worth in excess of £300k in current market)
3). earns approx £10k year part time as now have a small child
any advice on what her credit profile would be like please?0 -
Has she applied for a copy of her credit files from the credit reference agencies?
Does any previous unsecured borrowing appear on it? if so were all payments made on time etc?
The barclaycard plantinum requires a £20k minimum income.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I just got mine: suspiciously nothing at all even in the small print about BT and APR So I rang them (having been dicked about royally by the halifax in similar circumstances a year or so back -effectively missold).
Indian call centre NOW says as I applied before 17 mar the offer is not the one now shown online.
This sounds like 100% BS to me: nothing on BC site or here about this supposed deadline.
I have told them I won't activate anything that has been sent to me as I consider it attempted fraud to try to get me to accept a 'product' I did not apply for as it is less than the deal it was purported and advertised to be.
They also told me BC do not have a complaints department!
Although they did offer the HQs postal address: as they also have no customer phone line, poor old BC, I feel for them. Not.
I think the FOS will be getting a call later this week then!
Maybe it's just me in a 'victor meldrew type mode' but if I apply for a product or service I do not expect an inferior one to actually be supplied, especially when without checking by contacting them I would be none the wiser until I had transferred funds and received my first statement.
Thats attempted fraud and misselling in my book.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

well, out of interest and before making a complaint official I rang again today and was told a different term (now 18months) a different fee (now strangely 2.9%!) and different APRs on purchases and balance transfers. ho hum.
I was also told the wrong address for the customer relations department.
anyway: letter asking BC to confirm in WRITING what the APR, period length and fee is for BT's (i'm not intending to use it for anything else and the fee is all they are likely to ever gain in any case) and informing them I want to know why they don't send out the pertinent and legally required (? someone confirm what the legislation is here if you can?) information and I have no confidence in their helplines accuracy.
I will let you know..... (and still, possibly the FOS).Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

This sounds correct. That was the new customer offer in place before the 17th of March. They will apply the offer that was active at the time of application.0 -
That may well be fair, however sending a product different to that the customer thought they were applying for (although identical in looks) is not fair.
Sending financial products and attempting to get the receiver to sign up for a product whilst deliberately hiding it's real terms is also not fair, and IMHO is probably illegal.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
