Freezs credit card interest?

I thought i read a while back that if you contact your credit card company and tell them you no longer want to use your card then they will freeze the interest until you have paid of the balance can anyone tell me if this is infact correct ?????

No. You can opt out of a rate increase and close the account at the current rate.0
