What to treat Internal Oak Doors with?

I've recently had Howden's Dordogne Oak doors fitted and need to treat them to protect them.

Can anyone recommend a good product please?

I've been advised to use Osmo Polyx Oil but looking on the site there's a couple of types to choose from and I'm not sure which to go for.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I also went the Danish oil route, two years on no splitting problems at all.

    I did three coats though.

  • Sorry to hijack the thread OP, I hope to buy these doors when funds allow. I have a mucky nine year old who will get them dirty with grubby finger marks etc. Please can someone who has these doors finished with oil comment on how easy they are to clean.Could I use soapy water such as Stardrops or do I need a special product?

    Thanks,

Mine don't look grotty yet and my kids are a nightmare. Mine are two years old too. We painted the dining room walls in July and it looks like it's been years - and I've washed the walls a couple of times since then!

As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.

I used Osmo door oil. Looks great and far better finish than varnish etc...
