Halifax Online Service Down?

what you describe is exactly what they are trying to stamp out, as they mumbled something along the lines that this 'false enriching' is what triggers their offers for more loan/credit cards etc.
I'm OK then - as I never accept their offers. Not even the ones where they invite the OH (never me) in for financial advice. As we keep virtually all our cash in her name .... I do get a bit worried their constant assumption it's hers ... might just rub off on her!
I'm afraid the only way I'll be able to stop 'enriching' myself by moving funds in and out - is if they put the interest rate on their current account back to the 6% it started out at. That way I won't need to move cash around nearly as much .... but I don't thnk it will happen soon?
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

That's the point. I don't accept any offer either. I never have and I don't plan to -but this is not enough to prevent hassle.
They seem to assume that transfers of money between ones' accounts must be done for nefarious aims. I find it surprising that they would not have expected/anticipated a 'spike' in the number of internal transfers made by people with a Reward account. After all, it is them -the Halifax- who have devised an account which encourages people to make regular transfers in/out while keeping overall low balances. Then they get all worried when people do that.
I would understand getting suspicious a customer makes several transfers on a straight high-interest account, but their Reward account is designed to elicit exactly that kind of behaviour so they could have accounted for it.
Even more annoying in my case since (apart from the transfers which I do to trigger the £5) I actually use the account 'as an account', keeping (small) balances in it and getting money out if and when needed.
Live and learn though...0
