Microsoft are offering 10,000 free .uk domains for people who sign up for the trail of Office Live beta.
Even if you don't want to use their service (free during the beta) you can still grab yourself a free .uk domain name!
See https://www.officelive.co.uk
Cheers,
Neil

Would there be any way of transferring the website name to another provider if the bandwidth or storage limit is exceeded ? I think they charge $19.99 per month whereas I heard that you can get a 2 year web hosting service for that price.
Not sure about whether this is relevant but wanted to clear my head.I have learnt that living life to the fullest gives you a much better high than alcohol or drugs !0 -
You can't transfer away within the first 60 days, they'd be nothing in it for them if they allowed otherwise. But its a good way of domain sitting.:think:0

just done it..... doesnt look too bad, we will see! It is a microsoft deal so I susspect it will cost money to keep the domain at some point down the line.0

Looks good, I am half way through signing up for the basic package, but is it free only during the beta period, & then they will start charging us?_________________________________:starmod: Please do not feed the trolls! :starmod::beer:0

Sorry had to correct myself, you can't transfer away in the first 60 days. Which isn't to bad, seeing as you're not paying for it.
You just need to point it to t35.org, they allow to use your domain for free, with their free space.:think:0 -
xname.org is good for free dns hosting, if anyones interested or knows what i'm on about....:think:0

I would sooner pay £10+VAT for 2 years to someone like ukwsd.com and know that:
- The name is yours
- Point it where you like
- Transfer it where you like
- Don't worry about being charged more at the end of any "trial period"
- Get excellent support
No I don't have an affiliation with them other than I have been with them for a couple of years and can't fault them. If you want to take up a free Microsoft trial, I await the threads to begin at the end of the trial, let me throw a few into the melting pot:
- I can't find out where I am supposed to cancel?
- I cancelled but the payment still came out of my account
- My payment got taken and now they are refusing to refund
Feel free to add your own but to be honest I would sooner stump up around a tenner and avoid all the hassle. They are clearly asking for bank details hoping that many will forget to cancel otherwise it would just be a free trial and at the end they wuold give you the option to sign up with your bank details.0
