Hills feline k/d food - cheap sources?

Seems I have to start buying this again, 11 years after last using it, as one of our cats has been diagnosed with some kidney problems.

Boy has it got expensive! The vets want the best part of £30 for 24 x 156g tins of the "pate" style meat (he won't eat dry food!). With his appetite they won't be lasting long.

Anyone suggest cheaper (but reliable) sources for Hills feline k/d please - either online or otherwise.

Cheers.

No-one? Come on MSE'ers don't let me down...
  • Hi, I get most of my "special" foods & medications at Viovet as they're really competative (and have excellent customer service). I had a quick look at it's £26 there so your vet would appear to be charging pretty much the RRP.
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000

Could you persuade your cat to eat the dried food if it was mixed 50:50 with the meat? Dietary control of kidney disease is by far the best method and the dried is fairly economical, the wet food is ridiculous but that is the Hills price and not always the vet markup.

Thanks, someone else suggested that and, touch wood, it seems to be working. The meat "soggies" the bics enough for him to manage, with the few teeth he still has, and makes both go further.
