Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me. I have been offered a job which is 15 hours a week. However I currently claim:
Carer's Allowance of 53.90 for looking after my Dad p/w.
Income Support of 41.60 p/w
CTC of 127.00 p/w
Child Benefit of 185.00 p/m
I would really love to take the job as I'm feeling a bit down and lonely as the only people I see are my parents and my kids!!
Thanks for your help

So take the job, but bear in mind if you are only working 15 hours per week you won't be entitled to any working tax credits/childcare costs.icelandic_queen wrote: »Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me. I have been offered a job which is 15 hours a week. However I currently claim:

Then on the other hand if you earn £100 per week you won't lose your entitlement to CA. You will however lose about £21.60 from your IS as you are able to keep the first £20 from your wages without it affecting your IS.*SIGH*

It sounds like taking the job would be good for your mental health so I would definitely take it.
You don't say how much you will be paid an hour but as DX2 said, if you earn £100 or less after allowable expenses such as National Insurance Contributions, Income Tax, half of the money you put into a pension scheme then you will still get your Carer's Allowance.0 -
Thanks DX2 and MrsManda for your help. I was just wondering what happens to the Child Tax Credits if I take the job, do I still keep them?0
