Refunded buyer, but do I need to do a mutual?

I sold an item on Ebay, but the person brought it back (they turned up on my doorstep, as they only lived a short distance away!).
I agreed to refund the buyetr minus the postage as I sent it special and it cost a lot. I did that last night.
Do I need to do a mutual cancellation, or do I just leave it?

Will I still have to pay FVF's.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020 -
You can try a mutual as you have nothing to lose . If you leave it as it is then you do still pay your FVFs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I would not bother with a mutual seeing as you kept the postage.0

Yes, good point.
I think in fact it won't let a mutual even go through as transaction still shows a payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you choose the option for 'buyer is going to return for a refund', I think you might just get the fees back (if buyer responds to close the mutual of course). I think I've done a partial refund before, and the fees were refunded to me, after buyer responded. As theonlywayisup said, you kept the postage, yes, but the buyer might understand that you also spent the postage out again getting the item to them, so worth a try definitely (especially if it was a large amount).0

Thanks. I selected the option that Alfiesmum said and the buyer has agreed to the cancellation, so I've been credited my FVF's (£5.20 as my item sold for £51.99).
