We've had a magic eye in the bedroom for well over 12 months now, it's been running from our sky plus box downstairs without any problems but a few days ago it just stopped working...
We're still getting a sky picture upstairs but can't change the channel from the eye, we have to go back downstairs etc
Bf wants to break it up cos he thinks they'll be a battery inside powering it that might have gone, I say lets just buy another, only £5ish on Ebay... Is it likely to be the eye that's faulty or could it be somehting else?
What do you great people suggest?
Also, Sky 'should' be coming on Saturday with a new HD box, will the standard magic eyes still work with our new HD box
Thanks so much for your time so far, all help HUGELY appreciated

There is no Battery in the magic eye... It is powered from the sky box.... If they are giving you a new HD box then just get the engineer to try and set it up for you... If it doesnt work for him then replace it..0

I had the same problem a few days ago.
Check if the RED led (light) is on on the bit where your bf recons a battery is. My bet is that it is off.
If its off it means for some reason your eye is not seeing any power through the co-ax cable and hence you can only watch the sky and not change the channel.
I then changed my eye for a new one as I had a spare and it still did not work either.
I finally fixed the problem by disconnecting the co-ax at the sky box leaving it out for 30 seconds and then reconnecting it.
Hope this works for you
