do you connect to hifi with a cable or bluetooth?
If a cable..have you tried a different one?
Does your mp3 player show up as a drive in 'my computer'?

    Hi,

Sounds like your MP3 and/or comp has lost it's drivers or you have a faulty MP3.
Just wondering, when you plug the MP3 into comp, does it appear in "My Computer" or does the "Green and black USB icon" appear on your taskbar?

    Give this a try.

    1. Plug in your MP3 to comp.
    2. Go to Device Manager (Control Panel)
    3. Check for any exclamation marks or unknown devices
    4. If there is an unknown device, check properties. Reinstall drivers from CD/Download.
    5. If you find drivers on your comp then reinstall them and restart comp.
    6. If this does not work, Question: Did you use a specific program with your MP3 i.e. a Canon scanner would use Canon software for drivers?
    7. If you did, I would go to Add/remove programs in Control Panel and remove it.
    8. Restart comp.
    9. If this does not work and your MP3 is still not being recongnised, try searching online for your brand MP3 drivers or a basic MP3 driver and see if this works.
    10. If no avail, I would suggest it is the MP3 itself. Check all connection points. Sometimes all it takes is for there to be some dust/dirt on the UBS connection etc and that will stop the connection being constant or recognised.

Btw, I never use Windows Media, it is too much trouble and messes up my comp rotten. If you listen to your music from your MP3 through Win Media, I would suggest using VLC player.
You can download it for free.
Also, if you transfer music from MP3 to Win Media, why not just use Windows Explorer?
    No need for Win Media!

Sorry about the long explanation. Hope this helps!

Is it Broline or Proline? seems like there are lots of links for proline on google but not broline.
Were the Amazon files in the usual format?
If they are a different format to usual, they mightn't be recognised by media player or the hifi but will still play on the player itself.
If you could see the drive in 'my computer' you could drag them onto your pc and delete them from the player and see if it will play normally afterwards.
