HI... have a problem with ARC europe over a debt to EGG card... have asked ARC for copy of my original agreement using template from this site... they have replied to say that they are only debt collecting for Egg and that I should apply to egg .... they maintain that in the meantime they can still chase me for the debt... its not that I am unwilling to reach agreement.. but cannot afford the large amounts they are talking about.. they are also threatening court action via Trevor Munn solicitors.. would appreciate any advice on how to proceed with this... thanks..X

i had to pay a debt over a gym membership via them, they can be quite rude and got really cheeky with my mum because she told them i wasnt in and they didnt believe her!
anyway, i broke my contract with my gym because i cancelled the direct debit before i should have, it was only a bill of £120 (alot less than your credit card bills prob) but if i remember correctly they said the minimun i could repay them a month was 10% of what was outstanding so that was £12 a month for me. They threatened me with solicitors and i just tried to ignore it but when i spoke to them and asked them if i could make repayments at what i could afford they were fine with it. Just try to make a deal with them but a reasonable one on both sides and they should be fine with it.
Give them a call.
Hope this helps.0 -
I also owe a gym £140 and had a letter from ARC. The letter said i had to pay within ten days, i offered to pay £20 a month - i am currently unemployed - and they said this was too low and if i didn;t agree to pay at least £30, they would proceed with action. I thought £20 was a good offer on my part, any ideas on what i should do now?
Thanks.0
