If nothing is happening, go back to basics. Has it got power going to it? Check the fuse.

there is reset switch yes , have pushed it , nothing. water pressure is ok just over 1.5 bar. no fault lights on just a power light which is always on. wall thermostat clicks as it should when turned, just that it now doesn't fire up. When HW tap is turned on you can hear water flowing thru boiler but its not fired up.
    confused? oh yes.......
    thanks Rich

The pressure on the dial has nought to do with the DHW - its only relevant to the CH side.

    Is the fan running?

If the fan is running but boiler still doesn't fire up it could be the air pressure switch.

Have you paid your gas bill?

Think you need to get someone in TBH.

    Cheers

I had this recently and obviously I cant say you have the same problem and it was a nightmare. Originally it was thought it was a valve gone, then they replaced that and no joy, then they replaced ( accorfing to the guy) £180 worth of bits and bobs (curcuit board and other bits i think) no joy. The guy ended up going right back to the start and it was something to do with the wiring.

I think he was shocked that my boiler had been working so many years without majorly giving up the ghost before. Seems it wasnt wired correctly or something :o

Oh my - serious BS alert.

Lets change everything under the sun until we get it working then say it wasn't wired properly having started off by blaming a valve. Sheesh.

    Cheers

Not strictly true, as if the pressure is too low, and the boiler has a low water pressure switch (which the op's boiler does), the boiler will not work.

My first thought was a blocked low water pressure switch, which will render the boiler inoperative regardless of what pressure is showing on the gauge.
