Netto wheelbarrow - £20, thought?

Options
Hi all

Just popped into netto to get some wine (classy I know) and saw that they are selling galvanised wheelbarrows for £20 - now that seems a very fine deal to me, but would appreciate anyone's thoughts on it.

I don't have a huge amount of money and know that a wheel barrow is very handy in the allotment - I think its a good deal even if it only lasts a few years - gives me time to save up for a decent one.

Oh they were also selling off all their seeds for 19p

  • They did and I think it was 50l for £3ish or 2 for £5 - seemed a pretty good deal.

Mind you in B&M they had 40l for less than £2 - possibly as low as £1.45.
  • Ooo excellent thank you! No b&m stores near me unfortunatly but nettos is only a mile away

    I've been Money Tipped!
I prefer plastic wheelbarrows. they don't rust and are a little lighter, but the very flimsy ones are to be avoided as they buckle and are awkward to push with heavy loads. Not sure what one would cost these days though.
  • hmm a quick search shows plastic ones to be around £35, so this still seems a decent deal.

This wheelbarrow looks identical to the one I bought approx 2 years ago. Does it have a pnuematic tyre as the one I bought does? Makes life much easier.
If it is the same one, it has been pretty good overall having used it to move 9 Jumbo bags of sand and ballast. It has also moved tons of paving slabs too. The main complaint is that the 2 rear "Legs" are not spaced very far apart and this makes it a little unstable when filling with sand etc. At this price I would buy again when this one fails.

  • It does say that on the add - excellent, may pop back tomorrow to buy one.

With any luck I'll actually get to use it soon :-D
