Frustrated because I can't seem to sort out a DRO

I want a DRO and I meet the basic eligibility, or at least I think I do.

I wont be returning to the CAB for personal reasons (not about the CAB themselves) so I decided to try to get the CCCS to help me. I have now done Debt Remedy eight times and it keeps saying I have vast amounts left over for a DMP which just isn't true.

My entire income is benefits, all except DLA are means tested. I've heard on MSE that since my income is wholey benefits then I should be able to evidence that I do not have £50 per month spare fairy easily, but I can't. as I say I have played and played and played with Debt Remedy to try to get this to come out right but it's not happening.

I even rang them and got them to include "care" as an expense to accont for the care componant of my DLA (which is spent on healthcare recommended by the N.I.C.E. to cure my condition but which my skinflint local PCT wont pay for).

Can I really be so well off? I know that as a single parent and being in recipt of DLA my premiums are a lot higher than if I didn't have a baby or a long term illness but can they be THAT high? Really?

Help please?
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
[STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

Hang on that's wrong. Come to think of it child benefit for the baby isn't means tested either, sorry. You get the idea though.

When I did the CCCS calculator it said I had enough for DMP when I included my DLA, but when I left the DLA out it suggested I went Bankrupt. The calculator doesn't differentiate non means tested benefits so the best way is to run your figures through excluding DLA and any regular expenses related to that money.

So basically only put down expenses you would normally have without health problems.

Not sure if it would work the same with child benefit or not, maybe the calculator allows for that, I'm not sure. But it's another way to play with it.

You could also put your SOA in a post on here and the experienced board members will then be able to help you a bit with what would be allowed for bankruptcy. If you want to check with regards to DRO then you'll get more help if you post on the DRO thread at the top of the BR Forum page.
