Unwanted Rail ticket

Is there any way of selling a rail ticket as I may not need it now (missus was going day earlier but now she might have to work so we can car share)?

Alternatively, does anyone want a ticket from Birmingham to York this Saturday at 5.30pm - happy to take face value which was £16.50...?

You cannot sell your ticket here (or anywhere else) legally.

Might be worth checking if you can get a refund from train company for an unused ticket?
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!

I think they charge £10 cancellation fee. I'll probably still use it if I have to - two hours of peace and quiet....:D

As has been said, legally you can't sell it...I will not say anything else, just that if caught and the person who buys it is stupid, they could face prosecution under Railway Byelaw 21, as could you if it could be traced back to you.

Blimey - just for getting away with breaking the MSE rules??
  • Another way is to hope that the train is cancelled or late (30mins+ Arriva Crosscountry Trains) and then use delay repay to recover some of your money, however, as your train starts from Birmingham this possiblity is remote, but keep an eye on the Live departure boards you might be lucky.
