2. Upload films
3. Give my friend in Australia the log in details so he can download and watch them?

Rapidshare and Hotfile are two file sharing companys . That can be used to store large amounts of data . Your friend can be posted the links to files you upload .
But if those files are illegal content then the sites are proactive these days in removing them add to that the fact would be you as the uploader are the criminal as far as the media companies are concerned .
So if you upload xxx holywood blockbuster its often found unless it was my grannys 20th party video ( clue in the naming )

But would it not be safer for your friend to source his own videos .

Just get yourself some web hosting space from any number of locations, set it up as webdav space (it will appear as a local directory), drag it in. Get you mate to add the space in the same way and they can access the directory also.

Caveat: what you are doing is illegal.

It will be a lot cheaper than paying the fines when you get convicted of piracy....
