Warm front inspector has failed new boiler inspection

Last month warm front contractors fitted a new boiler and today a inspector from Eagar came out to carry out a inspection and failed the work.

The boiler makes (well the pump leading out of it) loud banging noises (kettling he called it) and then when he inspected the loft he told me that I have the wrong type of hot water cylinder for the type of boiler that they have fitted (it's not big enough) apparently the original eagar inspector (who instructed what work needed to be done) should have realised that and that it needs to be replaced and that a combi boiler should have been fitted and not a condensing boiler. He also said that the wires for the timmer are running directly along the pipes which is dangerous and that they have not replaced a pump that needs replacing.

He said he would pass it back as failed and then "someone else" would be intouch about what would happen next, when I asked what is likely to happen he said one of two things - 1 - They rip out the old water cylinder and replace it with a larger one but he doesn't think there is room - 2 - They replace the system with a combi boiler like they should have done in the first place.

He said my current boiler is safe to use for the time being and that someone would be intouch in due time, when I asked what is the likely time frame that someone else would be out to inspect the work he couldn't answer me and I asked if this was now going to start costing me money he did say no and reaasured me not worry.

He said it was one of the worst fails he's ever come across.

Has anyone experienced anything like this with warm front?

I have been left with no time frame and with the stories that you hear about warm front I am really starting to worry as I can not afford to pay out large amounts of money, it took 9 months just to get the boiler fitted how long will it take for them to fix the mess that they have now made of my heating system :(

Most of the time Warmfront installations ought to be failed, but they never are.

Perhaps you have had an inspector who actually knows what he is talking about and not prepared to just sign off any old cr*p!

I had them fail the simple thing of installing draft-proofing. They had to come back and do the job according to the specifications of the failure, and were really p**sed off as they said they get very cross when they get a failure. Considering they left dozens of nails strewn all over the carpets in my house, I think it must happen quite a lot. After this, it was inspected again to be signed off. I hope you get your boiler sorted soon.
