we just bought the small baby suits and vests -everybody else gave us all other sizes once they were born. Same with clothes very rare we have to buy any.

We got the boots freebie as the changing bag and has been good.

Pushchair - got a one in front, one behind one for town etc as easier to get in out of shops. Got a twin buggy for car and quick journeys.

    Congratulations by the way

    Congratulations.

I have the City mini double jogger. A great pram, with massive hoods to keep out wind and rain. It's easy to manoeuvre and fits through any doorway (except my back door which is smaller than standard).

You don't need the foot-muffs at first as they are positioned low down in the pram and will only cover the babies feet. My 5 month old doesn't even really need his now and I think a thick blanket would be fine.Get the rain cover though as this keeps the wind off them. Also think about which footmuffs , if any, you buy as the strap to fold the pram is in the seat so the BJ foot muffs are designed so that you can fold them with the footmuffs on. They look smart but are pricey.

If you're taking the changing bag with you when you go out in the pram make sure the strap is long enough to hang over the whole handle which is the width of the pram as the pram basket isn't very deep or accessible. IMO that's the prams only fault.
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

Think im gonna get a pack of small baby and a pack of newborn bodysuits and sleepsuits then get other once born. As you say people buy you and you end up with loads.

Iris Blue - Whilst Ive got you which changing bag do you use and is it a paticular big one that fits over handles also do you use a buggy board with your baby jogger - noticed the glider board and thinking bout that one with my soon to be 3 year old

    I've been Money Tipped!
r.e the bottles...I would think about getting a few more, I only have 1 3 week old baby but am finding he is going through 8/9 a day rather than the 6 everyone says they do. i have 12 avent bottles on rotation as with 2 other kids i am finding it hard to keep up with washing/sterlising/making up of bottles along with our own washing up.

I have mini jogger too for my b/b twins:D Its fab.

I have sixteen bottles full size as they had eight a day. I had a few smaller ones as spares. We are now down to four a day as there almost fully weaned.
Changing bag I have a samsonite blossom its not too girlie and matches my city mini twin [i have the red cream and black one.] Its nice and big.
I got as a gift bibetta reversa bag for the bottles, i can fit two bottles, two beakers of juice and lunch for them.. Has no corners so no food leakages can hide in corners. it waterproof too.

I havent used footmuffs yet as they were too small over the winter. Use to use blankets and put raincover over if it was super chilly of windy. I have some ready for next winter though.

I brought two packs of tinybaby babygros so three each and two packets of vests. But i knew they were small i wasnt huge with them and they were 6weeks early.
For newborn I just brought double what i would for just one baby. Asda/tescos do nice just white ones cheap.
But as others said i was brought loads of `outfits`
mum to; Two Boys (Non id twins)

My twins are now 2 and a half and we bought TONS of stuff we didn't need such as:

foot muffs - never used them once, just wrapped blankets around them and tucked them under their bums so they didn't drag under the buggy (McLaren side by side, has been FAB except I broke the brake and have had to have it tied to the underneath for the last 18 months but it was my fault, I kicked it in a temper!)

moses basket - used them for about three or four weeks, but really more because we couldn't bear to be away from them (waited 15 years and went through 2 lots of private IVF to get them) but needed to be able to put them down now and again to get a shower, make a drink etc..!! After those first few insane weeks we put them in their cots (separate) - in the baskets for about two weeks and then just made the transition to the cot and they've been there ever since! Oh and we didn't ever have a stand for them, and never missed them. Also we have never had a nightlight in there, they sleep in the dark, the curtains are slightly open so there is a small amount of light in there but that's it and they are fine with it. Perhaps in another year or so when we get the, "there's a monster under my bed" scenarios we may be forced to rethink this one! :rotfl:

With regard to bodysuits, I'd say you can never have enough (and that applies even now!). We currently have 28 (I know! But they were in packs of 7 and when we got them they were on BOGOF at Mothercare!!) and there are STILL days when I have to rummage everywhere to find a clean one. Example, Boychild is currently sick and has gone through five today alone.

Wilkinsons do fab bibs in packs of 3 for a couple of pounds, ours are still going now, though slightly faded from the colours they were when we bought them I must admit!

Sleeping bags were bought for us when they had their first Xmas. I know they were from Mothercare and had strips that fastened over the shoulders to make sure they couldn't wriggle down during the night and zipped up at the side. They were a GODSEND as we were forever being woken as they had kicked their blankets off and were cold. Only problem is it's difficult to let them sleep on their tummies in them as they twist when the children turn a bit. (I know I know about letting them sleep on their tummies, they were able to easily hold their heads up before I started that and they HATED lying on their backs, sleep problems VERY much improved when we put them down on tummies, though at first we were in every 10 minutes to check they were still breathing!).

This is turning into an epic so I'll shut up now.

Good luck and congratulations, I have found it by far the hardest thing I've ever done but, having just been in the nursery and looked at them, I wouldn't be without them for anything!

I've got a mamas and papas one which fits but I don't use it with the pram - I'm not one of these mothers that takes the kitchen sink with me when I leave the house ;) I have it down to a fine art now after 18 years of babies! A bottle and juice is normally enough for me as long as I change the nappies before I go out. I don't use a buggy board and I can't see you being able too whilst the babies are in the lay down position - the seat lies too far back for that. But ask someone else about that to be sure.

I would suggest getting one of these though http://www.littlebabyproducts.co.uk/sunshine-kids-buggy-mate-pram-organiser-p5491 for carrying bottles of juice, keys, your mobile etc
It just fastens with velcro and is great. I found mine in Mr T's on offer for £7 so you can get them cheaper

Bodysuits - It depends on if you wash every day or not. There's 8 of us so the WM is on twice a day. Off the top of my head my lo has 5 vests. I wouldn't spend more than I needed to...if you're struggling then get another pack.

Pramsuits - I don't know when you're due but don't bother you may not use them . Buy IF you need at the time..then get them. My mum bought one for DD as she thought it was cute and it's still sat there unused. Waste of money but she really wanted to buy it!

A tip...people seem to think you need everything but babies only need to be fed, changed and loved. You can actually go out and get things when the babies are born ..and you will WANT to go out and show them off! Get things then if you need them. Dont waste money and regret purchases. ( says she who's planning on selling her M&P swinging chair as its pink and the last baby was male! It's just been sat there for 12 months :rotfl: )

  • Lots and lots of white sleepsuits and vests as they can be washed easily rather than different colours.
Also buy nappies in bulk and keep a stock of them along with wipes.
My savour was a rocking swing - would soothe one of them whilst I soothed the other. But I was a single mum from when they were babies.
    Good luck!

Ive not bought a lot yet and im 19 weeks on Tues.

Weve bought a Avent steriliser we got half price and one pack of NB bodysuits ohhh and lots of mittens

Weve have stuff we have kept from our first child like the cot and a bouncer fitted sheets lotsa blankets. A few clothes items for boys dependant on what sex my babies are.

Weve decided to wait till the 20 weeks scan before we go out buying and the pram we are gonna leave till later - very small house storage issues.
