NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO WIN
1. SWEEPSTAKES/COMPETITION: Qatar Airways (“Sponsor”) will hold a sweepstakes/competition (the “Competition”) drawing on 18th April, 2011. There will be One Hundred Prize Winners drawn from all entries submitted during the promotion period. Each Prize Winner will be issued a prize letter which may be redeemed for any Economy Class Qatar Airways flight systemwide for the Prize Winner and one travel companion (on the same itinerary). 2. HOW TO ENTER: Entrants will be automatically entered in a Competition when they sign up to receive the Qatar Airways newsletter or otherwise submit an entry to https://www.qatarairways.com/100 or https://www.facebook.com/qatarairways100 between 15th March 2011 at 0001 GMT and 16th April 2011 at 2359 GMT (the “Promotion Period”). Sponsor will send each entrant to a web page confirming receipt of the entries. Entrants who enter the Competition will be automatically enrolled to receive Qatar Airways’ special offers newsletter. Any such communications from Qatar Airways shall offer a simple ‘unsubscribe’ functionality, where subscribers will be permanently unsubscribed from the email list. No purchase is required. Entries must be received by 2359 GMT on the 16th April 2011 to be eligible for inclusion in the drawing. The draw will take place on or promptly after 18th April 2011.
3. QUALIFYING ENTRIES: One entry will be allowed per email address, except in the case of referral credits, where one additional entry will be given for every referral subscriber that indicates an eligible referee. A referral subscriber is considered to be valid upon his or her entry to the Competition and subscription to receive special offers from Sponsor. Each entry must be submitted separately and must have a valid email address of the entrant. No robotic, macro, automatic, programmed, mechanically copied or similar entry methods are permitted; all such entries will be void and will subject that entrant to disqualification. Incomplete, illegible, damaged, inaccurate, or late entries are void and not eligible. Sponsor is not liable for any internet or other communications failures or interruptions of service. Sponsor will also accept entries sent via post, with a post-mark date no later than 7th April 2011 and received no later than 16th April 2011 at 2359 GMT. This postcard must be sent to the address stated in Clause 12, marked “Sweepstake Competition Entry”. This entry must be sent to The Sponsor in the following format: 3 inch x 5 inch handwritten postcard, containing the entrant’s full name, e-mail address, mobile number (with country code), and nearest Qatar Airways destination.
4. ELIGIBILITY: Open to persons who are legally able to travel from a Qatar Airways destination without legal guardians and are above 18 years of age at the time of the drawing. Entrants must provide a valid email address and must be able to receive a notification from Sponsor. By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Terms and Conditions and by all decisions of the judges and/or Sponsor, whose decisions are binding and final. Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates or agents are not eligible to enter or win. Entrants are not required to be a member of Facebook or other social media website in order to register for the Competition. The Competition shall not extend to countries or territories where the Competition is not permitted or where it is illegal or unenforceable which shall include, but not limited to Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Iran, Quebec, Sudan, and Syria.
The organizer of this competition is Qatar Airways. This competition has no connection with Facebook and is in no way sponsored, supported or organized by Facebook. The recipient of the information provided by the users is Qatar Airways only. The information provided will be exclusively used for carrying out this competition.
Questions or comments regarding the sweepstakes are to be made directly to Qatar Airways, and not to Facebook.
5. SELECTION OF WINNER: Winners will be selected in a random drawing to be held on or promptly after 18th April 2011. One Hundred Winners will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. If the prospective winner drawn is a resident of Canada, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, India, or any other country requiring a test of skill, a question will be asked and will need to be answered correctly. Winner will be notified by a Prize Notification sent to the email address on the entry form. Winner may be required by Sponsor to sign and return to Sponsor an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release before the prize is awarded. In such event Sponsor must receive the signed Affidavit of Eligibility and Release within 7 days of Sponsor providing it to the Winner. If any prize notice is undeliverable for any reason, or if the winner does not respond within 7 days, or does not comply with these Official Terms and Conditions, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected at random from the remaining entries. Unclaimed or unredeemed prizes will not be awarded.
6. PRIZES: Each prize will be issued in the form of a prize-letter, valid for the Prize Winner and their companion to travel on the same itinerary on any published Qatar Airways-operated flight routing. This award may be used by the Prize Winner and a travel companion only and the prize-letter is non-transferable. Each prize must be booked by 31st October 2011 and utilized by 31st December 2011. Whilst there are no blackout periods applicable to the redemption of the prize-letter, the prizes are capacity controlled and may not be available on all flights or days. All prizes and booked seats shall at all times be subject to availability. Prize Winners will be notified as to which Qatar Airways office will be handling their prize-letter redemptions. If not booked by 31st October 2011 or used by 31st December 2011, the prize will be forfeited. Once the reservations are made and the flight tickets are issued, no changes are permitted. Approximate retail value will depend on the specific itinerary selected; Prize cannot be substituted for cash and for such purposes shall be deemed to have no cash value. Sponsor makes no warranty or representation about any prize. The odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.
7. CONDITIONS ON PRIZES: The Prize covers air travel only on Qatar Airways network; travel on partner air carriers and code share partners is not permitted. Winner must pay for all other travel expenses. Flight confirmation is subject to availability of Privilege Club frequent flyer seat inventory at the time of booking. Sponsor’s standard conditions of carriage and other restrictions apply. Winner is responsible for all applicable service charges, surcharges, taxes, passenger facility charges and other fees, all taxes on prize, and for accommodations, gratuities, meals, and all other expenses. Some of these taxes, fees and other amounts may be due upon booking/ticketing. Prizes that are not redeemed according to the restrictions will be forfeited. Winner is responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents, visa, passports, etc., and the cost of the same shall be borne by winner, and for ensuring that all travelers have the right foreign entry requirements and the appropriate medical insurance No transfer, substitution, sale, or cash redemption of any prize is permitted.
8. RELEASE AND DISCLAIMER: By entering the Competition, each entrant releases and holds harmless Sponsor, its agents, affiliates, owners, representatives, and employees, from and against any claims, damages, or liability of any kind, including personal injuries, death, or property damage, or any direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or other damages, to the extent permitted by the applicable law, which entrant or anyone else may suffer as a result of participation in the Competition or the acceptance or use of any prize. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or defer any part of the Competition or these Official Terms and Conditions if they cannot be run as planned for any reason (including but not limited to tampering, theft of the prizes or entries, fraud, or legal order). Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in any such action, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition or these Official Terms and Conditions. If Sponsor cancels a drawing, or any part of the Competition, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct another drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect entries. Sponsor is not responsible if the Competition terminates or any prize cannot be used or redeemed due to war, terrorism, bad weather, strikes, riot, civil disruption, internet failures, or other acts of God or the winner, or for any other reason which is outside of Sponsor’s reasonable control. By entering the Competition, the entrant grants Sponsor permission for the use of his/her name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes for up to 24 months after the drawing without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law, if the entrant is selected as the winner.
9. TAXES: Winners are solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes. Winners must provide the Sponsor with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number before any prize will be awarded. Any U.S. resident who wins over $600 in prizes from Sponsor may receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year; a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. Prize Winners from other countries must follow local laws with respect to reporting and paying applicable taxes.
10. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA: Entries will contain personal data that Sponsor will collect and may use, subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy, set forth at http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/privacy-policy.html. By participating in the Competition, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy.
11. CHOICE OF LAW: The Competition and these Official Terms &Conditions shall be governed by the law of the District of Columbia, United States. Entrant agrees that any legal claims or proceedings arising out of or related to this promotion will be filed in Washington, D.C., USA and entrant agrees to the jurisdiction of such courts in any such proceeding.

13. SEVERABILITY: The invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability of any portion or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall in no way affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of any other portion or provision hereof. Any invalid, illegal, or unenforceable portion or provision shall be deemed severed from these Terms and Conditions and the balance of these Terms and Conditions shall be construed and enforced as if the Contract did not contain such invalid, illegal, or unenforceable portion or provision.
