Special NPower Tariff ?

This is a very long story but the short version is, I had to leave work permanently on medical grounds. I was receiving ESA (Highest Rate) and DLA Low Rate Mobility and Care both of these were cancelled as I failed the medical by 1 point ( Welfare Rights have put in an appeal for me)..
My income is now just £51.85 a week and has been for 6 months pending this appeal (expected June), needless to say I am struggling finically.
Is there a special tariff I could apply for with npower? I've called them and they just said NO, point blank.
Any advise welcomed.

If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x

This will be you 'cash in hand' income but I suspect you will be getting other benefits like housing, council tax etc. Supplier look at your TOTAL income (including all benefits) to determine if you are eligible for a 'social' tariff which also normally require you to be in receipt of one of a set of specific benefits.thepurplegoldfish wrote: »My income is now just £51.85 a weekIT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

You don't look like you are eligible for Npower's spreading warmth tariff. If you switched to an online only direct debit 12 month+ contract you will save more than any of the social tariffs available. What are you paying at the moment?

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Just choose their cheapest dual fuel online tariff. As you are poor you will be very frugal and so the £105 annual flat rate discount will be to your advantage - a lot bigger than miserly percentage discounts available on most social tariffs anyway.0

If you (or anyone in your home) are over 60, disabled or chronically ill and your household income is 13.5k or less have a look at spreading warmth
Either way have a look at Energy Trust

If you find you are eligible I suggest you complain including a copy to Ofgem.0 -

I didnt think ofgem take on individul complaintsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
