Need to get a will sorted - any tips?

Hello there forum members,

We really need to get around to get our wills sorted... Any tips or advice you can offer? Is it better to go to a solicitor or are specialised Willl Writing companies just as good?

Should I be doing research re: inheritance tax implications or leave it for the solicitor/will writer to update and advice us?

There seems to be so much to take into consideration which is part of the reason that we've been putting off the whole thing....
