some things I need to fix - advice needed

We are currently renting a flat and need to fix a few things that have deteriorated over the last year and a half:

1) edge of wall at front door:

As you go in the front door the edge of the wall is damaged and plaster is coming away:

What is the best way to fix this?

2) Wooden window frames and surrounds. They are warped because of moisture and the windows do not open and close easily.

I was thinking of buying a cheap sander like this one:

and sanding the window frames and surround when we have a dry spell. Then repainting.

3) Roof felt on garden shed roof. During a windy spell it ripped off. Any advice on repairing it?

    1. use a bit of hardboard flat agin the wall whilst you fill one side. remove the HB slowly to not disturb the filler. when filler is dry, do the same for the other side.
two spare hands are better for this job.
when complete dry (24hrs), then rub it all down flat. paint to suit.
use pollyfilla. and use the sandpaper wrapped around a block of wood. that keeps it very flat. easier to use too.

    2. you dont need an electric sander, just use sandpaper, prime and paint.
to be honest those windows look shagged. new frames are required.

    3. wickes sell the shed felt/adhesive/nails etc... and also get a free leaflet on how to refelt a shed roof. very handy.
    ps
that shed is identical to mine. mines had three re-roofs in about 20 yrs.
    Get some gorm.

Can't comment on the first two I'm afraid but wanted to say how easy it is to refelt a shed roof.

Our shed looked identical to yours a couple of weeks ago. Me and my mum (hubbie hates DIY!) refelted it one saturday afternoon. Took couple of hours, roll of felt from Focus (about £12) and some nails.

If you're renting is it not upto the landlord to fix these problems?

Agree with others. It ain't your responsibility and it ain't your cost either.
