I dont like Bulbs

Hi,

I have bulbs in all my rooms expect the kitchen which has tube light (fluorescent). I find bulb light not as good as fluorescent. Unfortunately I cannot just replace the bulbs with fluorescent tube light because sockets are incompatible. I tried getting so called brighter bulbs from homebase but I didn't find it as brighter as fluorescent tube lights.

I though of having fluorescent tube lights compatible socket but I am renting and not sure how the landlord would react to that.

Oh Sarah, flourescent light is HORRIBLE in living areas, and many people do find it gives them headaches, as it does have a flicker effect (you may not actually notice it, but it does).

If I was your landlord, I would NOT be pleased to find you replacing ordinary light fittings with flourescent fittings in all the rooms, simply because when you choose to move out, it would put other prospective tenants off.

If you need more/better light in your living rooms, get yourself a couple of lamps of various types. Lamps which take halogen bulbs will give you brighter light.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I don't like bright light in areas other than kitchen and bathroom, its much less strain on the eyes to have a dimmer light . I have a lamp I can adjust if I want to do close work or read.. what is it you are doing that requires such bright light?
