My cat's inviting his girlfriend round...

We have a magnetic lockable cat flap.... I thought it would stop other cats/animals getting in...

Came home last week to find him and next doors cats curled up on the sofa... I though i must of left a window open.

Same yesterday... this morning i see him comming through the cat flap ans her right on his tail so it dosnt get a chance to close before she gets in.

I dont mind her being in - both are resuce cats and use to live with other cats and its nice for them both to have company (she dosnt have a cat flap so only goes in/out when door is open & her owner is happy for her to visit us)

Obviousley she can only get back 'outside' if she follows my cat the same way or she will be trapped inside... not good if i am out for a few hours.. we dont have a litter tray anymore

Should I just give in and give her the spare magnetic coller thingy?

Oh bless, that's so cute!! I didn't realise magnetic catflaps also required a tag to get out; is there no setting to change that? I guess if not, giving her a tag is the only option; although she might learn that she needs to leave with your cat or stay there. As an aside, most healthy cats should be fine "holding it" for a few hours.
(I assume you'll let the neighbour know if you do decide to put the tag on her collar!)

That is so cute, they are bestest friends! Is there any way to set the cat flap so the visitor can get out without a tag?

    pmsl.... That is so funny...

We seem to be the halfway house for every cat in the neighbourhood which is fine with 4 of mine but the 2 littlest are very very scared of everything.

Not helped by them bringing home live things like birds, mice, spiders and bats too!

Are you sure? I've never seen a magnetic cat flap that wont just open outward.
