Rebate/Partial Refund on Car Insurance?
Hey, I've got an interesting one...
I'll be moving home soon around 160 miles out of London. In order to do this, I need to get insurance on my car to get there. I just got quoted via Admiral and they want £1700 for this address, but for a postal code in the area I'll be moving to (no known address yet) it will be £840 a year.
My question is... If I purchased the insurance now, and 1 month later, after I've moved, called up and told them I moved, will they refund the difference? (+ admin charge.)

They should. Elephant refunded me almost exactly the difference between quotes for my old insurance group 11 car and my new insurance group 2 car when I changed.0

Interesting. Would it be possible (legally) to get a written statement from them along with the certificate that they will refund me the different in price at the time I want to change address? If so, then that's exactly what I'm after.0 -

you would be better asking the ins co yourself,0 -
There's nothing in their terms about refunds due to change of risk, so I don't think you'd get them to agree to that.
Could you just take out a 30 day (or less) policy at your current address?0 -
