Lost my Halifax online statements

I went paper-free. Big mistake.
Halifax re-did their site to copy that of Lloyds TSB. They may both be copying someone else, but TSB is the bank i'm with who had the layout & Halifax followed suit.
I could access each months statement online no problem. Just been to access a statement tonight & find that i can't get to them. Then i find a line about archived & deleted shortly. So i go to this archive & there's nothing there. Not a single one.
I can get in touch with Halifax, but there's a charge. Bit wrong when i had them all stored online.
How do i go about getting them without paying?
Things like this Nationwide are much better!! Shame their offerings aren't as good.

Historic transactions are still there in the Halifax and Lloyds sites.
Log in and view the relevant account when in the "statement" page, at the bottom left, there is a drop down box. Select the relevant statement date and press "GO"0
