Scottish Power Online energy saver

I am a scottishpower customer and have been on the online energy saver 9 tariff for almost a year, they are now switching me to the online energy saver 9 (april 2012).

As this tariff doesn't exist yet I have been having trouble comparing my bill and seeing if I should switch. Can anyone offer any advice as the email from SP seems to indicate that the new tariff will be a higher price?

Any help would be appreciated....:)

You may find that the new OES9 is never added to comparison sites as it's not a generally available tariff (its for existing OES9 customers only)

I would suggest you start by consulting a comparison site.

But you'll probably have to work out the cost manually if you want to know the new annual cost under new OES9. If you give SP a ring, they should be able to work it out for you.

Then you need to compare that new OES9 annual charge to the annual charges a comparison site provides.

Hi, if you take a look at the other thread you will see that the 'new' OES9 they are offering is higher than their OES13. As Premier says, the OES 9 (APRIL 2012) won't appear on comparison sites.

Although I now have an idea of what my bills will be on OES9 April 2012 I still can't make a true comparison as the new tariff isn't shown on the comparison sites and OES 13 seems far cheaper than the new tariff I have been given (my monthly bills are increasing from 35 to 49 pounds a month.)

This doesn't make it easy to make a real comparison!

Can anyone help?::(

The general consensus is that you need to try and cut a deal to be migrated onto the new (customers only !) OES13 tariff.

If you go into your account with SP there is a one~click ' ring back ' button that actually works.

It's a lot better than listening to musak for half an hour on a premium rate line you are paying for .. .. while you wait to be put through.

Lots of things you need to know, but the one thing you should never ever fail to ask is :

Ask the question every single time - Am I on the most Cost Effective Tariff for my usage now / after March 2012 ? / whatever

I have just used the uswitch website and they are listing the Online Energy Saver 9 (April 2012) tariff. This should make comparisons a lot easier!
