Any scaffolders out there....please

Myself and three neighbours are having new roofs and when I returned home today, I was greeted by erected scaffold. Upon closer inspection however, I noticed that one of the scaffolding poles that is at an angle and ties the vertical poles in, has one end touching the ground and the other end is resting on the UPVC window frame. I am not too happy about this has when the roofers move about on the scaffold, there is going to be an element of movement which will mark the window frame. No padding has been put on the end of this sloping pole to avoid scratching. All four houses have had their scaffolding erected in the same manner. So far only two houses have had the upper storey of scaffolding erected and I noticed that the short vertical pieces upon which the planks sit also extend as far as the UPVC frame, again no protective padding has been used. In one case preventing any operation of the opener.
Is this practise standard in the industry and it considered the norm to expect cosmetic damage when scaffolders are in the vicinity or have some cowboys taken a break on their ride into town to shoot up the sheriff ?

If the roof work is the only work going on there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever.
Anything touching the building needs end caps but even then it should only touch brickwork. Not Again0
