Bath and cook at the same time anyone - very strange!

I can't post links, can someone do it for me? Very strange layout in the kitchen!

  • Lol either someone made a massive mistake on the floorplan, or that house is just bizarre.

I viewed a house in Eltham like this once. There was a panel like a worktop that fitted on top of the bath so you had useable space in the kitchen (when someone wasn't having a soak!).

All very strange - and extremely dated!

  • I like it! I'll put in a bid once my generous benefactor from Nigeria has sent over the £40 million to my bank account. What a kind man he is.

I too once looked at a house with a bath in the kitchen under a worktop. My dad said they were something lots of people wanted years ago.

I believe it was the 'next step up' from having the tub outside. I think the one I saw had had the outside space that housed the loo and bath knocked through into the kitchen. People used to think it gross to have their toilets indoors! Weird that we now even have them off bedrooms in en suites!

As an alternative to a tin bath in the middle of the kitchen, I'm sure it was a luxury.

haha reminds me of the first flat I rented 7 years ago. The shower was literallly in the kitchen, you could be at the work top cooking dinner as your OH was in the shower right next to you. At least the toilet was walled off but was so tiny that you couldn't shut the door to it so you could see everything in the kitchen.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.
