Advice re restrictive covenant?

Not sure if right place or not. Basically my mum lives in an end of terrace house with a large side garden. She would like to put a fence up on this do she can use it more but the original builder put a covenant on stating no buildings, Walls fences or trees could be put up. Builder ceased trading last year, house was built in mid 1950's.

How could she get the covenant removed? Can it even be done?

I'd post that in the conveyancing section, more geared to that kind of knowledge.

I would just put a fence up! (escpecially if it is a Freehold property).

Depends what the Covenant says of course, however anyone with any interest in the Covenant is probably dead or does not have a valid reason to object. An objector would have to raise an objection to your fence. It is unlikely, given the passage of time, unless it is a Leasehold.

On our estate, we aren't allowed to fence the front gardens due to a Restrictive Covenant.

Due to ignorant people letting their dogs poo on our gardens, many houses have a fenced front garden....
